Blue Quaker Babies! We have three Blue Quaker babies that hatched 7/16/10, 7/18/10, and 7/20/10. They are all DNA sexed females. They were sexed by Avian Biotech & will come with their DNA & Hatch Certificate. The baby girls were pulled from the nest at approximately 3 weeks old and have been hand fed since. As of 9/9/10, they are down to two feedings/day and steadily loosing interest in the formula. They are starting to work on eating Zupreem weaning pellets, millet, limited seed, fruits, veggies, etc. They are perching well and getting the hang of climbing around the cage. They love to play with their toys and are very curious. They are incredibly sweet and not a bit shy. We are a small, hobby breeder in SW Florida. We are a closed aviary. Babies are close banded. We spend a lot of time with our babies to ensure that they are well socialized and very sweet. When I open the cage door they run over and want to be picked up (or fed!) You will find many babies that are just handled enough to be fed, but not with us! These girls have been treated like family members and aren't nervous or flighty. Babies are expected to be weaned within the next few weeks or I will consider selling unweaned to people who truly have experience hand feeding and weaning baby birds. It is not worth taking the risk of something happening to one of these babies just over a couple of bucks! Babies can be shipped at buyer's expense and weather permitting via Continental or Delta airlines. Shipping is typically about $125 and you can ship more than one baby in a crate if so desired.
