Meet Frankenstein (a.k.a. Frank), a beautiful 2 1/2 year old green iguana in need of a good home. A few months back, some "friends" of ours asked us to look after Frank for a few weeks while they were away from home. Being a reptile lover with lizards of my own, I agreed to babysit Frank, just to make sure he was w/someone who knew how to care for him properly. In hindsight, I guess I should have seen what was really happening, but I never thought (or wanted to believe) these people would be such irresponsible, heartless scumbags. They have never returned or contacted us, and when I tried to contact them, I found the cell number had been disconnected. I now need to find a good home for him, as I just can't give Frankenstein the kind of time & attention that he needs and deserves. I am ONLY looking for a PERMANENT, LOVING HOME for Frankenstein, with someone who is aware of what it takes to care for an iguana properly and is able to do so. Please do not contact me unless you KNOW that you have the time and the space in your life (& home) to provide Frankie with a healthy & happy home for the rest of his lizard life. Here are some details about Frank: Frank is approximately 2 1/4 years old, and had been with the people who left him with us since he was just a few months old (they bought him in June of 2008). Frankenstein is a male iguana, and is currently about 3 1/2' long from his head to the tip of his tail. Frank is extremely healthy and muscular, in excellent condition, has all of his fingers & toes, and his tail is completely intact. He is fed a very nutritious diet and grows like a weed. He is socialized to a degree, and will become much more friendly with someone who devotes the love and time required to establish a good relationship. He can be a bit shy/skittish with strangers @ first, and will sometimes attempt to flee when you try to pick him up, but once you are holding him he absolutely LOVES being petted & getting back rubs. Frank is not an aggressive, and has never bitten anyone. He's very clever and somewhat of a daredevil acrobat. He's a funny, cool guy, and is fascinating to watch. He's a great iguana and it's obvious to me that he'll become an excellent pet/buddy. Included with Frank will be the 3' shop-light w/a 3' fluorescent UVB reptile light that I bought for him (UVB lighting is MANDATORY in an iguana enclosure, or they WILL eventually DIE!!!), his night time red heat bulb, his self refilling water dish, food dish, light timer, and some very cool astro turf covered climbing sticks that my husband made for him (Frank loves them). There is also a collection of decorative big & medium/large size rocks around the bottom of his enclosure that you are welcome to if you'd like to have them. I also have a giant collection of printed material on iguana care/nutritional requirements/recipes that I will send along with him.
